Best Voice Recording Apps
A good voice recording app is essential for students, journalists, podcast creators, private investigators, list makers, and sometimes even just plain paranoid people. Even if you’re not on this list, having an app like this on your home screen can be helpful.
I usually have two or three because I rely on them for interviews and transcriptions. When you search for “voice recorders” in the App Store, it can be difficult to sift through all the options and find one that has exactly the features you need.
We’ve done it for you here.I posted my recommendations, talked to my colleagues at PCMag about what they use, and checked out what else is on the market. Available apps range from simple, easy-to-use apps to feature-rich apps, including AI-powered transcription, that professionals will appreciate.

Alice Free;
